Nació en Cleveland, Ohio, en 1940. Estudió Pintura en Pratt Institute, en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Desde 1971 se estableció en el centro de Medellín, donde vivió y pintó durante más de tres décadas. Su obra hace parte de colecciones permanentes de diversos museos de Colombia y de Estados Unidos. Exploró diversas técnicas, entre las cuales figuran la escultura, la serigrafía y las artes digitales. En 1997 la Universidad Eafit editó La Visita, el estudio más completo sobre su obra, escrito por la investigadora Imelda Ramírez, Doctora en Historia del Arte de la Universidad Autónoma de México.
